1. Data Controller
The party responsible for data processing in connection with the GridPuzzles app under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

2. Overview
Using GridPuzzles itself does not involve any personal data at all: the app does not track you, does not analyze your usage behavior, and does not share any data with advertising networks. No account or sign-in is required to use the app. We only process personal data (your email address) if you voluntarily contact us — see Section 6.
3. Data Stored Locally
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party:
- Saved games and progress (save slots and autosave)
- Best times per puzzle type and difficulty level
- Settings (e.g. appearance/theme)
- Puzzle of the Day status
This data never leaves your device. There is no synchronization with a cloud service (such as iCloud) or with our servers. If you uninstall the app, or select „Reset All Progress“ in Settings, this data is deleted.
4. In-App Purchases
To purchase individual puzzle types or the full bundle, GridPuzzles uses exclusively Apple’s in-app purchase system (StoreKit). We never collect, process, or store any payment information (such as credit card details) — this is handled entirely by Apple. The app only queries your purchase entitlements from Apple in order to display unlocked content. For details on how Apple processes your data, please refer to Apple’s own privacy policy.
5. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising
GridPuzzles does not integrate any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs. No usage statistics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers are collected by us. (This is separate from the general, anonymized App Store statistics that Apple provides to all developers via App Store Connect, which we have no influence over and which do not identify individual users.)
6. Contacting Us by Email
If you contact us via the in-app feedback feature or directly by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to your inquiry. Your app version is automatically included with every feedback email. You may optionally choose to also include device information (such as device model and OS version) to help us troubleshoot issues — this only happens if you actively opt in. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling support requests), or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR where you actively consent to sharing device information.
7. Disclosure to Third Parties
Your data is not shared with third parties, with the exception of the purchase processing by Apple described in Section 4, which acts as an independent data controller.
8. Your Rights
Since we only process personal data in the context of a voluntary email contact (Section 6), you have the usual rights under the GDPR with respect to that processing — in particular the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). An informal email to kontakt@enricoweinhold.de is sufficient to exercise these rights.
9. Children
GridPuzzles is not specifically directed at children under the age of 16. We do not collect or evaluate any age-related data.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy, for example if new features are added (such as future cloud sync). The current version is always available within the app and on this page.
